This site is dedicated to Gray Antelope, friend, native healer, artist, storyteller and teacher. It is a collection of memories. It tells of days shared, of healings that he performed, of songs that he sang and of stories that he told.

Antelope taught by example, by sharing his art, his stories and his healing touch. Storytelling was a vehicle that he used to teach native values and history, so that their lessons would be passed on to future generations. It was his concern that in this modern age with its technological advances, scientific discoveries and emphasis on material gain, the belief in ancient traditions and in the power of spirit would be lost.

In his artwork, Antelope used traditional symbols. Each piece of pottery had its own story and carried a blessing. Each story in this collection has an underlying teaching or blessing. Each blessing is illustrated by a drawing or symbol. The symbols were designed to reinforce each blessing, images to be carried in the heart and mind.
