"Gray Antelope, I remember the first time we met, I was visiting from Sweden. You told me about your meeting with the cloud people. You drummed and sang Amazing Grace in Tewa. From that time, our cultures were united and we were children of the same Mother Earth. Today you are riding with the people in the sky, proud and humble, watching your children.

I learned to see the land through your eyes. I saw the original animals wandering across the tableland and how the original people came in groups looking for the springs. Our Mother Earth was flourishing like a virgin and the people were walking in harmony.

Then the land spoke to me and said: There is drought and no one is dancing to honor life any more. So, I started dancing and my heart was filled with a spirit of community between Heaven and Earth. My lips expressed a prayer from my heart for rain and water. That night a snowstorm shook the house and woke me up. This snow was the first water that had stimulated Mother Earth for over one and a half years.

The next day, you called me and you told me that you had been out during the night praying for rain. I told you, so had I. You asked me if I remembered what you had said about doing things with one heart. I remembered. That night we were of one heart.

I want to thank you for your generosity and hospitality, as well as for the medicine that you left for me to keep and cherish. I am proud of being one of your children."
